Two new positive cases of A(H1N1) have been confirmed in the 24 hours up to 4 p.m. today.
The cases are a 26-year-old Maltese woman and a one-year-old Gozitan boy. These two cases brings the total number of confirmed cases to date to 84.
The health authorities said that 55 people had recovered without complications and 29 were still being treated.
The Parliamentary Secretary for Health said last week that only patients in vulnerable groups and showing symptoms would be swabbed and administered antivirals. The most vulnerable were children under five, pregnant women and people with chronic illnesses such as heart, respiratory and kidney problems.
