The Specific Learning Difficulties Service (SpLD Service) of the Department for Curriculum Management and eLearning within the Directorate for Quality and Standards in Education will be launching the book: Dyslexia - Ktieb Gwida għall-Ġenituri.

This guidebook is the first book about dyslexia written in Maltese. It is aimed primarily towards parents who want to know more about dyslexia and how to effectively help dyslexic children.

It is also a useful tool for teachers and other professionals who would like to gain a deeper insight into this specific learning difficulty.

This guidebook is the result of an EU Socrates/Gruntvig 2 project called DyPaTec (Dyslexia - parents and teachers working together), funded by the European Commission. It is the joint work of an interdisciplinary and intercultural team from the fields of education, linguistics, psychology and medicine, together with parents of children with dyslexia.

The launch will be held on Tuesday at St Nicholas College, Attard Primary Hall, at 10 a.m. Refreshments will be served afterwards.
