Collectors of classic and racing cars were given something to smile about in the Budget.

The government promised a new “unique licence plate” concept for collectors allowing them to only pay for one licence for their entire collection. Besides, they will only have to pay a small processing fee.

Until now they were paying a licence for every car they owned.

The government also removed the registration tax of 6.5 per cent on sports vehicles that may be used only on racing tracks and other sites authorised by Transport Malta.
