Birkirkara wing-back Joseph Zerafa has been ruled out of Saturday’s BOV Premier League title decider against Hibernians after receiving a one-match ban yesterday.

Zerafa, a first-choice player for Birkirkara this season, has been sanctioned after collecting his fourth booking in the 1-0 victory over Tarxien last Saturday.

Hibernians, who finished the season level with Birkirkara on 45 points, had no players on the suspensions list, published yesterday.

Five other players were handed a one-match ban which they will have to serve in the first competitive game of next season.

These are goalkeeper Andrea Cassar, Massimo Grima and Giacomo Favero, all Ħamrun Spartans, and Tarxien Rain-bows duo Steve Sadowski and Branislav Timotic.
