Tarxien Rainbows are in search of a new coach after Jesmond Zerafa stepped down from his post late last week.

Zerafa had a number of issues with the Tarxien club committee that remained unresolved and that probably forced the former Valletta and Qormi coach to hand in his resignation.

This is the third time this season that the Rainbows have been left without a first-team coach.

Jacques Scerri stepped down in October and his replacement Kevin Vella lasted only 24 hours before he also decided not to take on the Tarxien job.

Zerafa was then appointed as the new head coach and under his stewardship the Rainbows reached the semi-finals of the FA Trophy after ousting Balzan in the quarter-finals.

This evening, Tarxien face Sliema at the Hibs Stadium.
