As part of the replacement of the pavement at the land side of the Ferries, the zebra crossing between St Vincent Street and Annunciation Street has been moved to the next corner.

The problem is that the zebra crossing has been in the former site for at least 20 years and the pavement across the road has been set up with wheelchair access. To get to the seaside there are four ramps. This made it easier for persons with disabilities to cross to the seaside.

Now, since it has been moved, it is impossible to get to the seaside with a wheelchair as there is no ramp on the other side. More so since the zebra crossing terminates in the middle of a water channel, which makes it impossible to use when it rains. Why this change? A clarification is requested from the transport authority why this change was authorised.

Just for information, in the place of the old zebra crossing we now have a reserved parking spot.
