The Żebbuġ Rangers FC Youth Nursery, in conjunction with the PUPI Foundation Malta and the Malta Tourism Authority (MTA), will be organising the Javier Zanetti Training Camp at their grounds on February 15.

Paul Fenech, representing the PUPI Foundation Malta, ad-dressed the media at the official launch of next month’s training camp which was also attended by MTA chairman Gavin Gulia and Franco Agius, the Żebbuġ Rangers director of youth coaching.

Fenech, who is also the president of the Inter Club Pupi Zanetti Malta, spoke about the work of the PUPI Foundation in helping poor and disadvantaged children in Argentina, and the strong links former Inter captain Javier Zanetti has established with the Maltese islands.

Zanetti, now serving as vice-president of Inter, is a tourism ambassador for Malta and his contract has been extended, Dr Gulia confirmed.

Zanetti will be conducting a training session at the Żebbuġ ground next month. The camp is open to boys and girls, aged five to 15.

The participation fee of €30 will be donated to the PUPI Foundation and in return, apart from taking part in the two-hour session, the youngsters will receive a commemorative t-shirt, a certificate of participation signed by Zanetti himself together with photo and promotional give-aways.

The main sponsors for the training camp include the MTA, Isomat, Noel Auto Dealer, Golden Drop, Convenience Shop, MF Electrix, GO & Fun, Bistro 516 and Chrissie’s Photography.
