During a Malta Cycling Federation annual general meeting held recently, John Zammit was confirmed as president of the organisation for another two-year term.

Acting secretary Daniel Borg Olivier retained his post as secretary and Austin Camilleri will again be treasurer after an election for this post.

In his address, Zammit thanked club delegates and asked for their collaboration in the 2013 racing season which got underway earlier this month.

Zammit urged clubs to give their contribution and reiterated his commitment towards strengthening cycle sport from all aspects. He also promised to keep in constant contact with the authorities to secure more funds, particularly for electronic equipment which the federation need to run their competitions more professionally.

The main events in the federation’s calendar this year include the Tour ta’ Malta and the Games for the Small States of Europe.
