Four boys and four girls from Mġarr, Malta, accompanied by their leaders, joined 32 teenagers from Italy, Poland, Portugal and Wales for a week-long youth exchange on the theme of sport and healthy behaviour.

It was held in the mountains of Alta Val Chisone in the Orsiera-Rocciavrè regional park in Piedmont, Italy.

The week included sessions of sport, interaction and discussions on the theme, apart from healthy breakfasts, lunches and dinners.

The seclusion of the location made it easier for the group to interact with each other rather than with their mobiles.

Feeling at one with the natural beauty of the mountains was fascinating, especially to the Maltese participants, who were only used to seeing hills.

The exchange was organised and financed through the EU Erasmus Plus programme.

The local youths’ participation was organised by Mġarr local council.
