Habitus Mentis, by Luigi Andrea Galea, was announced the winner of a short film festival for youths, held recently at St Clare’s College, Pembroke Primary.

Fifteen short films were submitted and screened to an audience and a panel of four judges comprising Rev. Saviour Chircop, Karl Alin Galea, Joyce Grech and Winston Azzopardi.

Subsidiary prizes were also awarded for Best Editing (Habitus Mentis), Best Plot (4D by Luke Zammit), Technical (Animat by Chris Scicluna) and Production Design (The Last Hunt by Kirk Attard).

This event followed on from the introductory course to film-making which Aegee Valletta and Comma held last March at the University’s studio.

There were sessions on photography, storyboard, script-writing, filming and editing by professionals in these fields.

The festival was coordinated by voluntary organisations Aegee Valletta and Comma, in collaboration with Farsonsdirect and the Ministry of Education.
