A 23-year-old man died when he lost control of the car he was driving and crashed into a tree, early yesterday morning.

The young man, from Mtarfa, was driving his Toyota Vitz along Mdina Road in Attard, heading towards Rabat, when the accident occurred at about 1.30 a.m. The man died soon after being taken to hospital in an ambulance, the police said.

When news of the accident was posted online, timesofmalta.com readers sent in their condolences to the man’s family and some remarked that the road was dangerous and something had to be done about it.

In October last year, a 29-year-old man from Iklin was critically injured when his car crashed into an electricity pole and overturned on Mdina Road.
