Young Stars started brightly, going ahead in the sixth minute when Marvin Vella scored, meeting a cross first-time from the top of the D.

In the 12th minute, Joseph Dalli finished off another crisp move on the right.

These two early goals stunned White Hart and, after a period when the action was confined to midfield, Young Stars won a penalty corner on 25 minutes and Mark Camilleri grabbed their third goal.

Camilleri then hit a reverse stick shot which was well saved by White Hart keeper Robert Vassallo Agius.

The second half started on the same note and in the 41st minute, Vella scored his second and Young Stars’ fourth with a smart hit into the right-hand corner.

White Hart reacted and their efforts were rewarded when Kyle Micallef reduced the arrears in the 55th minute with a well-taken shot, only for Young Stars to strike their fifth a minute later when Camilleri scored his second goal following a penalty corner action.

The score changed again in the 60th minute when Joseph Dalli also got his second and Young Stars’ sixth.

White Hart pulled one back in the 65th minute when Paul Torpiano netted after a Micallef effort rebounded off the bar.

Vella rounded the scoring in the 67th minute to complete a resounding 7-2 victory for Young Stars.
