Parliamentary Secretary Mario de Marco said in Parliament that a report made between eight and 10 years ago would be tabled in the House as soon as it was located.

According to Labour MP Leo Brincat, the report was an impact assessment on Waste Oils Ltd made by University Services Ltd together with foreign experts.

In his reply to Mr Brincat’s original question, Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi had said the question would be answered at a subsequent sitting. It was only on Mr Brincat’s insistent supplementary questions that Dr de Marco, standing in for Dr Gonzi, said the report was being looked for.

Mr Brincat pointedly said that stories had been heard of files having been lost or “paid” to disappear and, according to the Mepa auditor, even hard disks had been stolen.
