Three times in the last week I had problems with the 307 bus service to Xagħra from Victoria – either the bus did not arrive at all or it went flying by the end of the road, not even turning up the road to the bus stop (No. 1967, Ix-Xagħra and No. 2033, Tempji).

Today, I had an appointment at 2.30pm; I arrived at 2.18pm at the Tempji bus stop for the bus due at 2.23pm. I waited along with another person, only to see it go by the end of the road at 2.33pm. It did not stop despite my waving – the next one wasn’t due for another hour. I had similar experiences in the morning as well.

I know passengers are a bit of a nuisance when you’re trying to run a bus service and buses run a lot faster without them. This service has now become too unreliable for us to continue using it.

Appointments need to be kept, although turning up a little late may be acceptable in some cases.

I have sent a complaint to Arriva explaining the situation and said that I would be sending a copy to The Times as a warning to other would-be passengers.
