One wonders who the genial town planners are who set up an electric charging point for cars bang in the middle of Swieqi Road, the main street in Swieqi.

Points that go against any reason are:

• This is a residential area.

• Swieqi road is a busy one-laner which suffers from the overflow of parking in Paceville.

• Parking space is precious in this locality, especially since more and more apartment blocks are being built.

• The charging point is just opposite an already inconveniently high sleeping policeman.

• It is just at the entranceof Ġnien Francis Ebejer, a public garden frequented by many children.

• It is just on top of a water culvert in a valley road which reaches flooding point when there is heavy rain.

Should not these contraptions be appropriately set up outside inhabited areas, where they can have proper parking facilities?

The gang of workmen who did this shoddy job left it unfinished and unmarked. It was only the careful thinking of a gentleman in the area who tied the red and white ribbon, as a tenuous warning of danger. The authorities are requested to remove this inconvenience with the same speed at which it was set up!
