Percussionist Peter Sadlo will be performing at the Manoel Theatre.

Percussionist Peter Sadlo will be performing a recital, Bach, Rhythm and More, at the Manoel Theatre. Sadlo, who is performing in Malta for the first time, will be accompanied by his own ensemble.

Widely recognised as one of the leading percussionists of our time, Sadlo has been invited to perform by renowned orchestras around the world from Radio Symphonie Orchestra Berlin, SWR Radio Symphony Orchestra Stuttgart, Nuremberg Philharmonic Orchestra to the Orchestras of Hagen, Bochum and Wuppertal, Orchestra Nazionale Sinfonica della RAI Turin, Orquesta Sinfonica del Principado de Asturias, Beijing Symphony, Nagoya Philharmonic and Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony, among others.

At only 20 years old he became solo timpanist of the Munich Philharmonic, a position he has held for 15 years. Apart from his touring as solo and ensemble percussionist, Sadlo teaches at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich and at the Mozarteum Salzburg.

Equally at home in the complex structure of big symphonies as well as in contemporary sounds and the improvis-ation of jazz music, Sadlo will be performing compositions of the baroque master Johann Sebastian Bach.

He will be accompanied by percussionists Andreas Csok, Claudio Estay, Kiril Stoyanov and Simone Rubino. With their combined skills, they bring fire, sophistication and an energised approach to Bach’s music.
