A tiger is recovering from dental work at a British wild animal park after breaking three of his front teeth.

Nine-year-old Amir, a rare male Sumatran tiger, had to have the chipped teeth filled in at Howletts Wild Animal Park near Canterbury, Kent. The tiger, who weighs more than 20 stone, was sedated and transported to the on-site hospital for treatment by dental surgeon Peter Kertesz.

Festive cheer for Chelsea fans

Chelsea are top of another league after their fans’ festive chant about manager Jose Mourinho was voted the funniest of all time.

The terrace favourite, which goes “Oh the weather outside is frightful, but the goals are so delightful, Stamford Bridge is the place to go, Mourinho, Mourinho, Mourinho”, topped a poll of 2,000 fans.

It is sung to the tune of Christmas hit Let It Snow which has been sung by stars from Frank Sinatra to Kylie Minogue.

Clintons in middle of card storm

Clintons has been forced to issue an apology after a Christmas card branded “vile” and “beyond offensive” on social media was withdrawn from sale.

The £2 card listed “10 reasons why Santa Claus must live on a council estate”, including “He has a serial record for breaking and entering!”, and “He only works once a year”.

On Twitter, @valbrown_valb labelled the card “seriously vile”, @MikeSegalov wrote “this is beyond offensive” and @SusanABatchelor said it was “vilifying and stigmatising the poor for corporate gain”.

Baby tips the scales at 14 pounds

A woman in southern Colorado was surprised when she gave birth to a baby girl that tipped the scales at almost 14 pounds.

Mia Yasmin Garcia was born by cesarean section in Alamosa weighing 13 pounds, 13 ounces. The Alamosa Valley Courier reports the newborn was flown to a Denver-area hospital because she had low glucose levels and trouble breathing.

KUSA-TV in Denver reports her mother, Alisha Hernandez, was expecting a seven-pound baby. Mia’s father, Francisco Garcia, says the newborn’s size shocked everyone, including hospital staff. He said: “They were like whoa! They opened their eyes like they’ve never seen a baby like that.”

Triple whammy for US driver

Vermont State Police say a 48-year-old man drove his pick-up truck off the road, piloted another off the road trying to pull the first one out and then drove an all terrain vehicle all while intoxicated.

Police said Dwayne Fenlason was charged with driving under the influence after the incident in Pomfret.

They say Fenlason drove his truck off the road on Sunday evening, then went home to get his other pick-up to haul out the stranded vehicle. He was on his way back when the second truck ended up off the road. He went home again and got his ATV to try to pull out the trucks.

Police say his blood alcohol content was 0.30%, nearly four times the legal limit of 0.08%.

College accused of stripper swindle

Prosecutors say a Florida college used exotic dancers as admissions officers, falsified documents and coached students to lie on financial forms as it fraudulently obtained millions of dollars in federal money.

The Florida Attorney General and the US Attorney in Miami announced that they were joining an ongoing civil lawsuit against FastTrain College and former owner 56-year-old Alejandro Amor. FastTrain is now defunct.

It operated seven Florida campuses and was based in Miami. The complaint says that from at least January 2009 through to June 2012, FastTrain and Amor swindled the US Department of Education out of millions of dollars with falsified grant applications.
