Cynthia de Giorgio, curator of St John’s Co-Cathedral, is today delivering a lecture entitled Triumph of the Eucharist which will focus on the cathedral’s precious  tapestries.

For the next couple of years, one will not be able to admire this set of tapestries which Grand Master Ramon Perellos y Roccaful donated to then conventual church of the Hospitalier Order of the Knights of St John the Baptist. He dedicated the set to the Triumph of the Eucharist.

The tapestries were originally hung along the nave of the church but the risk of damaging them was too high. Eventually, a new museum will be built where visitors will be able to admire them in all their glory.

Triumph of the Eucharist is being held along the main nave at St John’s Co-Cathedral, Valletta, at 6.30pm today. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests are kindly requested to refrain from wearing stiletto/narrow heels.
