A young woman was critically injured in a head-on collision yesterday morning in Triq Mons. Mikiel Azzopardi, Siġġiewi.

The 23-year-old from Siġġiewi was trapped in her Ford Fiesta when the accident happened at 8.15am.

She crashed into a Renault Kangoo van driven by a 45-year-old man from Fgura, who was heading to Siġġiewi. She was rescued by the Civil Protection Department and taken to Mater Dei Hospital.

Police are investigating.
