Burnley’s lead at the top of the Championship was cut to four points after they were denied victory against Wolves by an injury-time equaliser.

Sam Vokes put the Clarets on course for a seventh straight win when he netted his fourth goal in three games, but they could not hold on as Danny Batth headed in Nathan Byrne’s corner to earn a 1-1 draw.

That allowed Brighton to gain ground on the leaders as they held on for a 2-1 win at 10-man MK Dons to move back above Middlesbrough into second place.
