We have got pretty familiar with European commissioners of various ilks telling us what we should and should not be doing. Now we have an addition.
It is a ‘Council of Europe’ commissioner who is arrogantly telling our government what it should be doing about “our ladies’ bodies”. In simple terms: think and argue (in herd-like fashion) like other nations.
However, as a good old Maltese proverb goes, it is the wise who make the biggest mistakes.
So here are a couple of thoughts for Nils Muižnieks to mull over in his pursuits. They come from others certainly much more erudite than him.
“I’ve noticed that everyone who is for abortion has already been born” – Ronald Reagan.
“We believe in a woman’s right to control her body and she deserves this right no matter where she lives, even if she is still living inside her mother’s womb” – the organisation Feminists for Life.
