It is interesting or, rather, curious how for some the political scenario is being adjusted to appeal more to our modern society.

Why has the Labour Party embarked on a new project to be known as a new movement by adjusting its name, changing the party logo, changing the colour of their TV newscasts from the usual red to blue and in many words accepting ideals that were never part of the Labour Party?

Is this an admission that the Labour Party was not valid enough before to take office and, therefore, a complete departure from its past? Is all this a cosmetic change just to win power?

Can we really believe that all they say is going to be carried out when, through their media, there was the usual negative and distorting of facts and results that our country has achieved under the present Administration during the recent years? Is all this being orchestrated to create the perception that the Labour Party is leaning towards their opponents, the Nationalist Party, simply because they know it is the only way to get to Castille?

Can anybody deny that if Joseph Muscat is elected Prime Minister he will not find our nation functioning well, with a relatively sound economy, one of the lowest unemployment rates in the EU, an ever increasing standard of education, a flourishing tourist industry, one of the best health services in the world, a much improved road network and, lastly, a rating from financial circles as the richest small island in the world?

Are we aware that, in 1996, there was a certain Spiteri who worked out the CET tax system, which turned out to be a complete failure and this time there is Konrad Mizzi to work out a reduction in the water and electricity tariffs?

Will history be repeating itself in this electoral deciding issue when analysts indicate that the proposal is unrealistic?

Citizens love their country and this is above politics, so we must reflect well to entrust the nation to the best-qualified Administration in the next five years.
