This question sounds like one of those asked at famous television quiz shows. You think you know the answer, but still harbour a nagging doubt that it’s a trick question.

Watching dance shows is an exhilarating experience, so imagine what it’s like for the dancers. In fact, feelings ran high once again this year at the Dance College Studios’ annual show, held recently at St Monica School in Gżira.

While the older dancers got shouts and cheers for their superb routines, the younger ones stole everyone’s heart.

Amy Spiteri, one of the dancers and teachers at Dance College Studios, said after the show: “It’s amazing seeing so many dancers enjoying their performance.

“The feedback we get from our students and the audience encourages us to seek new challenges.”

This year’s main guests were Rossay Campbell and Simeon Beckett, who own The Artifex Dance Company in Manchester.

Campbell appeared on The X Factor as a backing dancer with singer Rita Ora and supporting act dancer for Omarion, the American R&B singer and songwriter. He choreographed the video for We Are the Ocean rock band, among other assignments.

Beckett is choreographer at Sandwell Music and Arts College, and at the Alice in Chains UK tour workshops. Like Campbell, he featured on The X Factor as a backing dancer with Ora, and performed in Yves Saint Laurent and L’Oreal commercials.

Rose Sokolova, also from Artifex, teamed with up Spiteri during the show.

Dance College Studios will be at the Dansworks Dance Academy in Lancashire, the UK, next year, to take part in their annual show.

A group of 13 dancers from Dance College Studios, led by Spiteri, will feature as special guests in that show.

Dansworks will perform at the Dance College Studios’ annual show next year, prinipal Kim Schembri said.

During the past two years, Dance College Studio dancers have performed at Areadanza in Livorno, Italy, and at Nene Valley Dance Academy in Corby, the UK.
