My son has to travel to the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology every day. A journey which, according to Arriva, should be done in 47 minutes more often than not takes three to four times that time. Trying to use different routes is in vain because buses just don’t turn up.

A few mornings ago, a bus that is supposed to pass by every 10 minutes didn’t turn up for 55 minutes. On phoning Arriva I was told the bus was at Portes-des-Bombes, in Blata l-Bajda. Could it be there is a black hole, swallowing all the buses?

One of the main problems with Arriva is that they don’t adjust to the circumstances. When a journey that outside rush hour takes 10 minutes is stretched to 45 minutes during peak time it is obvious more buses are obviously needed as one cannot wait for a circular bus to arrive.

Every day lessons are missed and stipends are not paid to the students who are late for their first lesson due to the non-existing service run by Arriva. My son leaves well ahead of time and still doesn’t make it to school on time. Is Arriva taking responsibility for this? My son also paid for his frequent-user card but many times we still had to give him a lift.
