Recent history taught us that Alternattiva Demokratika – the Green party was always ahead of its time. It was a pioneer in advocating in favour of divorce, party financing legislation, a Whistleblower Act, animal rights, environmental issues, such as land use, air pollution and water conservation and against illegal hunting, spring hunting and squatters, particularly those occupying public land such as in Armier.

The truth is that AD campaigned on its own while both the Labour and the Nationalist parties preferred not to participate. Thanks to AD’s perseverance, these issues are today mainstream. Divorce was introduced and the environment is high on the Government’s agenda although much is still desired. On the other hand, other issues still need to be addressed including the Whistleblower Act and party financing.

The choice is ours. We either wait for another decade or two for such changes to be attained or else we speed up the process through AD’s parliamentary representation following the March 9 election.

If you want true change, then vote AD… after all, only 2,000 first preference votes in a district are required.
