I agree wholeheartedly with Derek Lawbuary who complained about poor phone manners in his letter of February 20.

Employers and government departments should always make it a point to answer phone calls with the proper manners. Bosses should make dummy checks on their employees to make sure work rules are implemented.

“Show me your manners.” “Where’s your manners?” These phrases should be repeated by parents and teachers so perhaps the importance of manners will be ingrained in the new generation of children for the rest of their lives.
