I recently watched a TV programme in which the Leader of the Opposition was being asked a number of questions, so that the electorate could be enlightened as to what they could expect from him, were he ever to be elected to run the country.

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed.

Joseph Muscat insisted that he keep mum about his intentions and he is expecting the intelligent Maltese electorate to vote blindfolded in favour of whatever he may have in mind at any given time and without the time to evaluate what he will be suggesting.

I would like to remind Dr Muscat that as Opposition Leader, he is duty bound not just to criticise the government but also to put forward suitable alternative ideas to that of the government. If he refuses to do this he is failing to do his duty and is accepting his honorarium under false pretences.
