What if the raging civil war in Syria ends up with Bashar al-Assad using chemical weapons against his own people? What if the Israeli government decides to attack Iran in retaliation for the recent assassination attempt in Bulgaria of innocent Israeli civilians?

At the moment there are many “what ifs” to be asked, even by taking a look at our own political scenario. Unfortunately, Lawrence Gonzi’s ratings have fallen dramatically of late, thanks to the three main rebels in his government but what if, after the next general election, the Maltese electorate discovers that Joseph Muscat isn’t as good at being our new Prime Minister as they imagined he would be? Dr Muscat’s blah, blah, blah doesn’t make him a leader, so what if all his talk about the economy, health and immigration fail to produce any results?
