It is ironic that very often people often tend to criticise without realising that they are getting lost in their own negativity and failing to see any positive things in a situation.

While I fully agree that the government has ruined things with Arriva and many other things, I must say that I was very proud to see our Prime Minister and Malta being praised so highly by so many diplomats ranging from Hillary Rodham Clinton to William Hague over these last few weeks.

It is indeed a great honour for us to have featured so prominently and Lawrence Gonzi must be praised for having gone about his business so discreetly without raising the ire of the previous Libyan Administration and risk Malta suffering any retribution.

I feel that the way the government handled its business over the last few months should be commended and is in stark contrast to some other heads of state who were perhaps a bit too cocky or cautious.

The fact that, during all this time, Dr Gonzi has been providing counsel to the new Libyan leaders (as quoted by Mrs Clinton) shows how intelligent and wise he has been and has improved Malta’s reputation internationally.

Well done indeed and thank you!
