With just days to go until the launch of their latest album For the Unsung, Maltese metal act Weeping Silence has been understandably busy preparing for the event.

The album release, however, is just one of many developments the band has been going through; all of them important steps in confirming Weeping Silence’s standing at an international level.

To start with, this year the band is celebrating its 15th anniversary, and to mark the occasion they’re going all out to make this Saturday’s album launch concert one to remember for years to come.

Then there is, of course, the album itself; the band’s third full-length release comes in a collectable limited-edition digipack that is being released internationally through Ravenheart Music and features none other than Draconian’s Anders Jacobsson on two of the tracks.

Earlier this month, the band also launched a music video for Love Lies Bleeding, a track off the new album that has already clocked up over 4,000 views in a matter of weeks.This certainly augurs well ahead of the album launch.

For the Unsung was recorded by David Depasquale at Spine Splitter Studio and mixed and mastered by Brett Caldas-Lima at Tower Studio, France. The artwork was designed by Jan Orkki Yrlund of Darkgrove.

Meanwhile, the band has also signed a promotion and booking agreement with Limelight Productions, who will handle Weeping Silence’s European live engagements.

Vocalist Rachel Grech has also been chosen to appear in a 2013 calendar featuring women in the metal scene. Compiled by Seeker of the Winterheart, the calendar also features Sharon den Adel (Within Temptation), Floor Jansen (After Forever) and Simone Simons (Epica).
