• Consumers have the responsibility to check a shop’s return policies before finalising a sale.
• When returns are possible, consumers should be informed about terms and conditions to observe.
• Consumer legislation gives consumers the right to claim a remedy when the gifts bought are either not fit for their purpose or are not as described.
• Gifts bought through distance selling may be returned within 14-days from the day the are received by the buyer.
