▪ Before paying for a product or service online, consumers should make sure that they have detailed information about the trader and not just an email address.
▪ Safe and secure websites would include information on how a consumer can lodge a complaint, together with the link for the Online Dispute Resolution platform.
▪ Beware of websites that have just been set up. If possible look out for reviews posted by other consumers to see whether the concerned trader can be trusted or not.
▪ Any payment should be done through secure means, such as through a credit card of Paypal. Avoid sending payments through bank transfers.
