Malta should be in a position to achieve its EU-set waste management targets by 2020, Environment Minister Leo Brincat told Parliament yesterday.

Answering Labour MP Etienne Grech, Mr Brincat said this formed part of the Strategic Waste Management Plan, which emphasised effective use of disposable resources, including waste.

The plan was adopted in January.
