A batch of the popular wheat-based food Maltova has been withdrawn from the market because of a fungal toxin.

The product, Maltova Infant Food in a 200 gram cardboard box with a yellow cap, a best-before date of July 2014 and lot number L302, must not be consumed, the health authorities said.

It was found to have high levels of deoxynivalenol, a mycotoxin that can form in wheat-based food from moulds that come in contact with food, the authorities said.
