Bank of Valletta has warned customers of a scam through fraudulent e-mails pretending to be from the bank.

This e-mail claims the customer’s internet banking account is due to expire and a link leads to a fake site asking for personal and bank details.

“Customers are advised that under no circumstances should they open the attachments contained within these emails,” the bank said.

It reiterated it never requests login credentials, PINs or credit card details through e-mail, telephone or other means of communication.
