The Malta Tourism Society is organising a guided walk of the Xemxija Heritage Trail on Sunday from 9am to 12.30pm which will show that St Paul’s Bay and Xemxija are far more than just ‘sun and sea’ coastal resorts.
The walk will include a thorough overview of the site by historian Eugene Theuma, who has carried out a number of research studies in the St Paul’s Bay area.
The tour will also be animated by Analise Borg, a university student and member of the Malta Tourism Society, who has carried out her studies for her thesis in partial fulfilment of her BA (Tourism) degree on the Xemxija Heritage Trail.
The walk will include refreshments and the opportunity to socialise and discuss the experiences over tea, coffee and food in the locality.
There will also be a discussion on the value of heritage trails for the community at St Paul’s Bay, being held on Saturday, July 2, also between 9am and 12.30pm.
Participants at both events will also benefit from special membership rates for the Malta Tourism Society.
Bookings at €15 may be made by calling 9916 7805 or by sending an e-mail to tourismsocietymalta@gmail.com by noon on Friday.
Cheque payments are to be sent to: Malta Tourism Society, Institute of Tourism Travel and Culture, University of Malta, Msida. Cash payments on the day will also be accepted.
