Between January and August this year a total of 1,306 patients spent time waiting in the Paediatric corridor of Mater Dei Hospital until they were assigned beds in wards.

Answering a parliamentary question by Gino Cauchi (PL), Health Minister Joseph Cassar gave a month-by-month breakdown of the waiting time.

It showed that the worst periods had been January and February (390 and 214 respectively).
