Since 2008, the Department of Industrial Relations and Employment has registered and investigated 36 reports of St Philip’s Hospital employees who were owed backdated wages.

Answering a parliamentary question by Labour MP Leo Brincat, Justice Minister Chris Said said that 28 of the cases had been referred to the courts and eight had been closed before getting to court after both parties involved had reached amicable settlements.
