Now that the local council of St Julians is facing another election, this time for nine councillors, it is time for all voters to choose wisely. St Julians is not, and never will be, an easy place to manage and direct. It has a fireworks factory called Paceville, a busy area with its own parish etc, Balluta, an extended district of Ta’ Giorni, the Gardens area and the old core of this mini-city.

If voters pretend that its councillors will solve all the problems, including their personal ones, with a magic wand, they are living a Harry Potter dream. But the outgoing mayor and his team have proven their worth and are ready to face reality again. Other candidates have a full CV and others are willing and able to do their best.

Choose wisely and let us give St Julians, nine, nice, friendly, hard-working persons, some tried and tested, others ready to go, but all having a desire to work in harmony for the good of the district. Remember that a vote not used is a plus to the other side and on March 10 nine persons are going to be elected, whatever the number of votes cast.

A well-done to the outgoing mayor and councillors and may the best be voted in.
