Defending double world high jump champion Blanka Vlasic, of Croatia, is a doubt for this month’s World Athletics Championships after injuring her leg.

Vlasic, also the double world indoor champion and reigning Olympic silver medallist, suffered a “partial rupture of the semi-membranous muscle of the left leg”, her take-off leg, it was announced on her official wesbite, blanka-vlasic.hr.

“This new situation brings into question Blanka’s participation at the worlds in South Korea,” it said, adding that a final decision would be taken tomorrow.
