Fake snow used in James Bond films has helped transform countryside in England into a replica of Lapland.
Millions of pounds have been spent turning 1,200-acre Bewl Water in Kent into Lapland UK, an Arctic-style attraction with huskies, sleigh-pulling reindeers and elves.
Celebrities including comedian Vic Reeves and his wife Nancy Sorrell have visited the venue, which is home to an open-air ice rink, an elf village and a snowy cabin inhabited by Father Christmas. Other highlights include gingerbread making, a toy factory, story-telling, elf passports for children and forest pathways covered in fake snow.
Mike Battle, managing director of LUK Events, which runs Lapland UK, said ticket sales are up 15 per cent from last year and that it is open until Christmas Eve.
