A newly-appointed salesman for the prestigious rosé semi-sparkling wine brand Bodvár of Sweden – an own-label wine produced exclusively by Emmanuel Delicata – last week visited the company for a brief induction on Delicata wines and in particular to learn about the Maltese red grape Ġellewża.

Bodvár of Sweden is made entirely from Ġellewża. This premium wine has been produced by Delicata and sold and marketed successfully by its owner Bodvár Hafstrom in Swedem for over seven years now. It is considered one of the country’s leading rosé brands and is sold in many top restaurants and VIP lounge bars in Stockholm, Gothenburg and other Swedish towns.

Marcus Larsen, who brings a wealth of experience to the Bodvár of Sweden sales force, tasted a number of Delicata wines during his visit.

He showed particular interest in rosé wines such as the Medina Grenache Syrah DOK Malta, Pjazza Regina Rose IGT Maltese Islands, Maltese Falcon IGT Maltese Islands, Victoria Heights Rosé Shiraz DOK Gozo and the latest vintage of Delicata’s Ġellewża Frizzante, the Maltese version of Bodvár of Sweden.

“The quality of all the wines I’ve tasted is outstanding,” he said.

“The whites all show good varietal characteristics and are crisp and refreshing, all of the rosé wines are really well made and some of the best I’ve tasted.

“As for the reds, what I really like is their easy drinking styles and soft tannins which make them very consumer friendly and ideal for drinking now as well as having good ageing potential”.
