I wonder why nobody has commented on the ridiculously expensive fares that Virtu Ferries are offering travellers.

If I want to go to Pozzallo by car with my wife and three children, I will end up paying over €500 for the trip!

That is outrageous, for a journey less than 100 kilometres!

Just to compare: StenaLine is a company in Norway that does for Norwegians what Virtu Ferries does for the Maltese – offers them quick and easy escapes to neighbouring countries.

The difference is that StenaLine does not charge a small fortune!

Two adults and three children in a car, with a room on the boat included overnight to Denmark, totals up to less than €100 euros for a return ticket.

And this from one of the richest countries in the world! Not to mention that the trip is three times as long (300 kilometres one way)!

It’s a disgrace. Lots of Maltese have not even been to Sicily because of these crazy prices.
