David Ellul, first violinist of the University of Malta String Quintet, has been selected to take part in the orchestra of the Young Artists’ Meeting in Bayreuth, Germany from August 5 to 28.

The meeting takes place during the Richard Wagner Festival and started in the 1960s.

The 120-member orchestra will include young talented musicians from all over the world. The programme will include a selection of Wagner’s Ring of the Nibelung and a symphonic poem by Franz Liszt.

During August, the orchestra will present the programme in a number of German cities.

Moreover, the young participants will have the opportunity to attend the performances of the Bayreuth Festival.

The Richard Wagner Festival Bayreuth is one of the most highly reputed and largest international festivals. Every year it is dedicated to the works of Wagner.
