The Sliema local council has been providing a free circular bus service around the town for a number of years.

During all these years this circular bus service has been a boon to Sliema residents.

With the advent of Arriva it is rumoured that this circular bus service is going to be discontinued. Needless to say, this will adversely affect the Sliema residents, especially the elderly. Once the council can no longer provide this service free of charge, can they consider continuing it at a nominal fee?

In the absence of this arrangement, would Coop Services Ltd, which are providing transport to commuters to their place of work at a nominal fee, consider taking over this circular bus service from the council? They can rest assured that Sliema residents would be more than grateful if they could take over this essential service.
