Historic Piano Concerts is back with another concert on Friday, this time featuring the Goldberg Trio who will perform a programme of Viennese classics.

This series of concerts aims to instil interest in classical music through the use of the forgotten and beautiful sonority of historical pianos housed within inspirational and original venues.

Friday’s concert will be taking place in the magnificent Cathedral Museum at Malta’s old capital city of Mdina and will feature a 127-year-old piano made by Blüthner, one of the foremost piano makers of all time.

Playing the piano is Michael Laus, resident conductor of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, together with Marcelline Aġius on violin and Nadia Debono on viola.They will be performing pieces by Schubert, J. Strauss Jr, Lehar, Kreisler, Josef Strauss and Eduard Strauss.Three halls of the museum will also be open throughout the evening for patrons to walk around and admire the art.
