The 19th edition of the Victoria International Arts Festival kicks off with an orchestral concert at St George’s Basilica tomorrow at 8pm.

The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by VIAF’s artistic director Joseph Vella, will perform Mozart’s Concerto for Clarinet and Orchestra in A Major K622 (Godfrey Mifsud, soloist), Vella’s song-cycle Seħer Op. 39 (Maria Frendo, soprano) and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 in C Minor Op. 67.

VIAF 2016 offers an uninterrupted run of 37 musical and artistic events in different venues all over Victoria. All events are free of charge. VIAF is sponsored by the Gozo Cultural Support Programme of Arts Council Malta in collaboration with the Ministry for Gozo.
