Now that St Paul Street in Valletta is having a complete overhaul, I hope that granite slabs are not used to have it resurfaced, as has been done in Republic and Merchants streets. This is because, in time, through constant use, the slabs are polished and, especially in the stretch from the Auberge de Castille down, or further downtown in Valletta, could become dangerously slippery especially when it rains or with some kind of oil or diesel spill. So, using other material instead of granite slabs could help avoid accidents.
