“A former VAT inspector was jailed for six months, fined and given a general interdiction after she was found guilty of accepting a €1,000 gift for speeding up the payment of refunds to her uncle.

“Liliana Galea, 33, from Marsascala, was just a small part of the corruption scandal that rocked the institution in 2009 and involved millions of euros in fraudulent transactions,” reported The Times on November 18.

What about the big fish? Will they pay back the money? Are they going to jail? Are they going to be made to pay a penalty? Are we ever going to know all their names? Will we ever know how the case of each and every one of these has ended or will have ended?

How come Finance Minister Tonio Fenech has been so silent about this huge scandal?

How come Opposition Leader Joseph Muscat did not put forward a motion of no confidence in the Finance Minister? How come the VAT Commissioner has not been sacked?

How come not one minister or MP bothered to kick up any dust on this scandal involving millions of euros in taxpayers’ money?

This is justice under the GonziPN regime.

The beat goes on and on…
