Between 2004 and 2011 there were 120 persons who had their VAT-related fines converted to imprisonment, Home Affairs Minister Carm Mifsud Bonnici said in Parliament on Tuesday.

Answering a question by Opposition Whip Joe Mizzi, he said the original fines had not been paid. The terms of imprisonment varied between six months and four years and one month.
